Thank you for all your support at the Flower and Garden Show. It was wonderful again this year, and we are sad that this is the last year for the event. Happily, we went out with a bang, by winning the 1st place exhibitors booth award with Ross' recycled design using watering troughs and piping. I think the glorious indoor/outdoor glass chandeliers set off the Gazebo perfectly.
Following on from the show, we are proud to announce a special Daniel J. Hinkley Seminar & Signing on Saturday June 6, 1pm. Daniel Hinkley is a horticulturist extraordinaire, garden writer, and nurseryman. He is renowned for establishing Heronswood, in Kingston, and his personal garden ‘Windcliff’ in Washington. He is also celebrated for collecting, propagating, and naming varieties of plants new to the North American nursery trade. He is an experienced lecturer and will be presenting a seminar and book signing here at DIG. Call to pre-register for this free presentation and get a 10% discount off his latest book.
There is a lot to catch up on this month with plenty to do in the garden - despite the bone chilling cold! Remember your Fava beans, sweet-peas and herbs, as well as your Daphnes. Our favorite this year is 'Summer Ice'. It's also time to get the gloves on, clean up the yard and get your beds ready for planting, with Ross's fabulous, organic compost. Remember - we deliver!
Our next class is Potatoes in Containers on Sunday March 29, 11am
Find out about the brilliance of planting organic heirloom potatoes in containers. Ross and I had record results with our organic potatoes from September to February. Our favorites are Red Gold and tasty Fingerlings. If your potatoes are not flavorful you are missing out. Free class, pre-registration appreciated. 20% off plant purchases the day of the class.
So remember your rainy day coupon, and get down to the nursery and get going on Spring!
